A brief overview of the project

Cito is a knowledge organization in the field of testing for over 50 years. They develop objective measuring instruments that give good and honest insights into the development and possibilities of students. Among others, Cito develops a final assessment tool for primary education, every year. Since 2018 Cito has been developing a digital adaptive assessment instrument. This online measuring instrument requires a child-friendly and intuitive interaction design that matches the needs, expectations and limitations of primary school pupils.

For this project, Cito requested UXkids to investigate the existing measuring instrument among pupils and teachers.

This research was used to identify user patterns that can be translated into a digital measuring instrument and to ensure it matches users’ needs.

UXkids conducted user research and focus groups among pupils and teachers. Within these sessions, the current assessment instrument and high fidelity prototypes of both interaction as visual design have been tested to get clear insights on potential product directions.
