A brief overview of the project

Property developer BPD constructs affordable, sustainable living environments for the Netherlands, France, and Germany. Due to the shortage in housing and space, vertical living for families is becoming a necessity.

Amongst others, BPD is developing housing for families. One of their missions is designing housing environments that are suitable for and meet the needs of families. To get an understanding of the expectations and desires on vertical living in urban environments among families, UXkids conducted

qualitative research. Since families consist of both adults and children, BPD wanted to also involve kids.

Children aged 6 to 12 years were invited by UXkids to take part in focus groups. The children had to imagine the ultimate city-life. Their needs and expectations were collected through pictures, drawings and a brainstorming session followed up by a discussion.
